Beer Making and Equipment in a Farm Environment

About Vincent Johnson

Vincent Johnson trained in the late ‘80s as a fabricator at a shipyard making nuclear submarines he then went to Heriot Watt University to do a 4 year BSc (hons) in Brewing and Distilling. After a few jobs in the brewing industry he set up his own brewery equipment making business in 1999. Since then he has made over 100 craft breweries in the UK and Europe and even one in sunny California.

: I will endeavour to explain the basic science behind the brewing process and how this knowledge coupled with good quality equipment, a passion for the business and a strong work effic can make great consistent beer. We have helped many farms set up a brewery and will use one of our new clients, Church Farm in Warwickshire as a case study on how to utilise unused farming buildings/land to start a brewing business from initial planning through to how beer gets into a public house. Church Farm Brewing has been shortlisted for The British Farming Awards 2016 in the Diversification Innovator of the Year category.
