Alpacas - The Story Behind This Global Emerging Industry
About Shirley Bettinson
Shirley Bettinson: In 1997 Shirley and her husband established Toft Alpacas near Warwickshire by investing her money and dreams in four pregnant female alpacas. Since then they have selected and imported alpacas from Peru, Australia and the USA to improve and maintain the quality of their herd, evaluating and developing their breeding programme at every stage to now farm over 200 alpacas. Toft also process and sell value added alpaca products and garments in their farm shop and selected European outlets.
At this seminar you will learn what alpacas are and the growth of the global alpaca industry. You will hear how farmers and landowners in Britain are making a healthy return from breeding and selling alpacas in the UK and throughout Europe. Alpacas offer a wonder lifestyle that is fully supported by the British Alpaca Society.
