About Angela Simkins

Angela Simkins is Centre Director at Farm491 – a new £5.5 million AgTech incubator being established by the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester. Angela joins from RDS Technology in Gloucestershire where she was Managing Director. The new venture has been funded by the Gloucestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, GFirst LEP, by the RAU, and by philanthropic funds from the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust.

Agritech has many forms including precision ag, bioscience, big data, GPS/GNSS and the internet of things.
This seminar will give an explanation of what agritech means and how Farm491 is supporting start up agritech businesses with a view to feeding the global population effectively and sustainably.
